Prince of Stride: Alternative (プリンス・オブ・ストライド オルタナティブ , Purinsu Obu Sutoraido Orutanatibu) is a Japanese anime television series directed by Atsuko Ishizuka and produced by the animation studio Madhouse. This anime is an adaptation of the otome game Prince of Stride. The series started airing in Japan on January 5th, 2016, and is airing now.
Synopsis[]
The series is about a form of sport known as "Stride," an extreme sport that involves six people on one team who run relay races through towns. It involves 6 players on a team that runs relay races in towns. The story takes place at Honan Academy where first year high school students Takeru Fujiwara and Nana Sakurai try to recruit members for their "Stride" club in attempt to restart the club, but they must recruit six members for the team. They ask Riku Yagami to join, but he turns them down by saying that Stride is the one thing he doesn't want to do. Hōnan Academy and other schools compete to win eastern Japan's top Stride competition, "End of Summer."

Origins[]
The original game revolves around "Stride," an extreme sport that involves six people on one team who run relay races through towns. Hōnan Academy and other schools compete to win eastern Japan's top Stride competition, "End of Summer."
The series revolves around a closed-down "Stride" club at Hōnan Academy. First-year high school students Takeru Fujiwara and Nana Sakurai attempt to restart the club, but they must recruit six members for the team. They ask Riku Yagami to join, but he turns them down by saying that Stride is the one thing he doesn't want to do. However, Takeru and Nana drag Riku into the clubroom to try to convince him.
The game was first released for the PlayStation Vita on July 30, 2015. The game franchise also includes a "visual novel series" (light novels with many illustrations) by various authors and a drama CD. Kadokawa released the fourth visual novel in the series on August 21 2015.
Shūji Sogabe [FiFS] is credited with the original design works for the series. Kana Nono [FiFS] is credited with the original character design, and Tomoyuki Uchikoga is credited with the original graphic design. Atsuko Ishizuka (director of Hanayamata, No Game, No Life, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou) is directing the series at Madhouse. Taku KIshimoto (Silver Spoon, Haikyuu!!, Bunny Drop) is handling the series composition, and Kokunen Ou (Hanayamata) is adapting Nono's character designs for animation.
