Kaede Okumura (奥村 楓, Okumura Kaede) is a first year student at Saisei High School and is one of the stride club's runners. He is voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga.

Appearance

Kaede is a rather short, thin figure with a noticeably younger look about him than his teammates, thus causing him to stand out as more childlike in appearance. He has short forest green hair and round brown eyes. He usually wears a black headband and his bangs are parted to the right, above his eye.

He wears a red jersey (with the left arm covered in black, Saisei's emblem on the left and "Valentine Records" written in the middle) with a white t-shirt underneath. He wears it with green track shorts, socks and white running shoes.

His school uniform consists of the dark green school blazer over a white dress shirt and red tie. He wears it with the dark red uniform pants and black dress shoes.

When preforming he wears a grey jacket with Galaxy Standard's emblem. He also wears a slightly unbuttoned black dress shirt underneath and grey pants.

Personality

Kaede is a polite yong man who is mature for his age. He is notable for being one of the two Saisei members who almost always speaks in keigo, the most formal version of Japanese grammar. Along with Shizuma, he often reminds the other team members to keep their decorum in public. However, he is prone to fanboying or otherwise becoming agitated when Kyosuke is brought up.

In the visual novel, he is either the foil for Kyosuke or Takeru, depending on the route chosen.

Skills

For a first year, he is very skilled, and that led him to being accepted into the team immediately after his graduation from middle school. In the visual novel, he specializes in corners, along with Takeru. He also has above average parkour skills, but mostly for showing off to the fans.

Background

Not much is known about Kaede's household, except that he has a father who is a politician. In the visual novel, a reporter took photos of him, Kyosuke and Nana together and published it to incite gossip, and the elder Okumura paid a visit to Honan to clear up the matter.

Relationships

Kyosuke Kuga

Despite being a freshman, he idolizes Kyosuke, and was upset when he was not there to compete against him, so he barraged Honan and Ayumu with questions as to his whereabouts.
